Maine Ski's Shrimp Run 1st Rally

Post by noeclark »

This is a rally for scooterists, regardless of the brand of scooter you own, if you like to scoot, you are welcome to attend. This is a free event, you do not have to pay to join Ski's Shrimp Run. This event is open to the public. Anyone interested in coming down to see some really cool bikes and chat with some scooter enthusiasts is welcome to attend.
Rally Camping arrangements made!
Anyone interested in camping for the weekend of the rally will be pleased to hear that we have secured Thomas Point Beach campground in Brunswick Maine for our group on both Friday July 26th and Saturday July 27th. The facility and the people are very nice. Only $8.00 per person per night! If you are interested in joining the group at Thomas Point just drop us a line and we will add you to the list. There is also a Best Western Plus about a 3 minute scoot down the road, so anyone not interested in camping who would rather spend the night in a cozy bed may do so. If you are interested in staying at the Best western, you may call them and make a reservation. Their number is 207-725-5251. Again, this is just a short scoot from the campground and you are welcome to join the group there and then head on back to the hotel at any point. — at Thomas Point Beach & Campground.

Friday July 26th: Camping and meet & greet.
The mid coast Maine area is full of things to do! Feel free to scoot into town early on Friday and hang out with other ralliers before the big event on Saturday, or just hang out and explore the Brunswick area.
This year Ski’s has secured Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick Me. as our official rally campground. Only $8.00 per person per night includes campsite, bathrooms, showers, electricity (on the grounds) and fun! Contact us for more details or to sign up for your campsite!

Saturday July 27th: Rally and Ride. After rally camping.
The rally will begin at 10am in the parking lot of Sea Dog Brew Pub located at 1 Bowdoin Mill Island in Topsham Maine.
The 16 mile ride begins at 12:00pm sharp and will take riders on a scenic Maine tour up route 24 to our second rally point in Richmond, Me.
Once in Richmond, enjoy live music, great brew and food at our second rally point The old Goat (33 Main St. Richmond Me). Live entertainment for the afternoon will be provided by Ryan Wimbish. Ryan has won many singer/song writer competitions from Maine to Texas and he puts on one hell of a show!

Vendors include Cumberland County Scooters and Cycles and Tri Sports.

Prizes will be given in several categories including “Best vintage”, “Best modified”, “Highest milage” and so on. So, it’s time to dust off that show piece bike a head to the rally!

Don’t forget to purchase your rally patches and T-Shirts at the event and join us for some post rally fun back at the campground.

Sunday July 28th: Post rally breakfast.
