And the new scooter winner is...
The 2013 Kymco Agility 125!!!!
Almost didn't get the thing when I found out the utility company wanted a $700 deposit just for power at the new place Thankfully my wife found a way around it and now it will *only* cost us $375. Non-refundable of course.
It means I have spent my entire grant in the span of a weekend, but I think we got some good value out of it: 15 different mics, a new audio console, new compressor/gate/limiter, 500 feet of cable, a NEW APARTMENT, an epic birthday for my little brother-in-law and a new scooter!
Now we can keep both our jobs and cut about $200/month off of the fuel costs!
Thanks for everyone's input both owners and detractors (not that there were many) of the Kymco alike. Nearly pulled the trigger on another used Buddy, but my wife helped me see that what we really need is utility. Only have 12k on the bike so I can't give a good review yet, but first impressions are that this thing is TIGHT, and I mean in build quality! Seriously, the plastic may look cheap, but it's put together FAR better than nearly any car comporable to it on the street. And, it's quite predicatable but powerful for a 125!
Review pending. Right now I need to pass out. I always have a hard time spending alot of money in one spot that actually belongs to me.

loctite the bolts on the exhaust cone. these back out easily and you will lose 'em one by one until the cone rattles off
careful with the under seat latch. its bad enough the seat requires a drop, slam, or weighted lean to close, but its worse the latch is soft as pewter. i was doing ok with mine but the dealer over greased it two years ago causing even harder slamming to close, and the latch broke. was on its way to breaking anyway
a single tone stebal TM80 fits snug as a replacement horn. if you can rustle one or another up doesn't need a relay or anything. just plug 'n play; i have the low tone. its very loud

you will be glad when you change the back tire. i say that because it will get changed first. handling will be noticeably improved
the headlight is yellow and kind of weak. i go to my brights often. will be interested to know what you swap it out for if you do. i think you live near desert so a brighter light might be in order?
use something like this to keep all that black....black

http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G15812-U ... sbs_auto_7
and a restorer if it starts to fade a bit

being you are very demanding on a scooter i would be happy to know of your ownership experience and any mods you might make, and repairs needed

So far the bike has been flawless! The suspension is VERY tight, which makes it hard on some of the more neglected roads of Phoenix but helps with the performance cornering. The seat latch seems very light and easy to use, but has a bit of play. The headlamp is weak, but light years beyond the Rattler's.
As for modifications, this bike is likely to remain stock. It is solely a commuter and the cash is being saved up for the Stella resto. Only have 60 miles on it so far (101km), so it is hardly broken in yet. But, it wants to run! Having a hard time keeping it below 50. I am sure once broken in, touching an indicated 70 just may be a posibility

Man! Practically in the neighborhood. Excellent steal on that Agility. When things slow down later this month we need to get together for a beer sometime.Keys wrote:Hey Jared, I'm living down in Peoria now and just picked up a '12 Agility with only 1500 miles for $900.
Mine is up to 8k miles and not a glitch. Been steadfast reliable and, well, just what you'd expect from a Kymco. I hope to pick up the smallframe project in about 3 weeks so this will be a definite daily driver, so no more mods on this bike. But that's cool... I'm just sure my Agility is going to be jealous that it will have to give up it's indoor parking spot for the smallframe

Man, do I know the feeling. We've just only now started to get stable. The Agility was the right scooter at the right time, even if I do have my eyes on a '74 smallie. That and I'm thankful the local music scene is starting to pick up since the theater market has fallen dead flat. A show is a show sometimes...
