Ahhh, MV does not allow replies to ForSale/Wanted listings, so that is not a surprise.

Many of those hits may be from search engine crawlers indexing the forums.

I'll look at peoples bikes for sale to see what kind of ideas I get based on what modifications they have made to their bikes.

Exactly!

I have bought parts out of the classifiedes on MB before and I will admit...browsing scooter porn...I mean for sale items...is kind of an obsession...and every once in a while I run into a deal.

I bought a scooter off of the MB forsale/wanted section in August...sold it last week after posting it here.

Actually there is no "we" here...except for the community. MB is governed by
"he that is the decider!"

Just be happy that it ain't me!

I always (well almost always) consider myself a guest here.

Sometimes I think I'm just the Christmas Tree that never gets taken down and tossed to the curb!

I bought my Blackjack from an ad I saw posted in the MB For Sale section. Couldn't be happier with it! I've similarly bought parts from ads posted in MB For Sale. The only reason I found these ads is precisely because I browse the For Sale forum even when I'm not necessarily in the market to buy. This was the case with both of the purchases I mentioned above.

I got my Buddy "Martin" from someone very far away.. I knew what I was looking for and found one and had it shipped to me.

I do browse the Forsale area just to clear that brown folder icon off my screen! I want to read all of MB

You DO realize that, for all of the traffic Modern Buddy and Modern Vespa gets, they both have *very* tiny presence on the internet. Multiply that by the even smaller number of people from your local area who MAY happen across your ad who MAY be in the market for a Buddy who MAY have the cash for the asking price...

Well, let's just say Craigslist local postings have a far better chance of getting that bike sold.

Does that make the classified ad section worthless? Hell no! But, don't expect that a bike listing on a forum where the average user is 95% likely to already have a bike of the same make (or close to it) that you are trying to sell to move at a very fast rate. Sure, it's to the right audience but when it comes to selling a vehicle, most buyers are usually new to the market or may not even realize they want one yet.

In short, it's not the website or forum's fault that your bike isn't selling.
"Earth" without Art is just "Eh"...

At 79 and 80 in a few short months, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only old curmudgeon on this list. Hang in there BKRDOUG and I hope you and me will be "kickin ass" for many more years to come.

As for me, I have always marched to my own drummer. After 50 years of dog shows I retired from the road 2 years ago and still run my little sharpening and service business doing local and mail order for
Vets and Groomers. Augments my play money. Ride as much as I can and
hit the gym 4 days a week. I am a crusty ol codger but I ain't done yet by a long shot. :P

Don't forget the main riding season here is almost over here.

Love bugs in central Fla and the rainy season is around the corner. Our scooter sales seasonis pretty much the opposite of our friends to the north!

Ah yes, the Love Bugs. I was born in FL and partly raised there, remember them well. They are not bad once you get used to the taste as you strain
them thru your teeth. :bleh:
