It depends on the helmet, but many will. Mine, a KBC VR1X (large), does fit but just barely. Make sure to give it a try... helmet shapes are all a bit different.

My Modular Full-Face Fulmer fits in there with no problems, but it is more or less an exact fit so be sure to check with a particular helmet.

does the seat lock? If so does it have a key to unlock it or what?

The seat does indeed lock when pressed closed. To unlock it you simply press the key INTO the ignition so that the front metal face pushes down a bit, and then you turn it to the left. BAM! The seat unlocks.
Elegant. Sophisticated.

thanks, i appreciate the help. I wish to get a buddy someday, but its hard with being a college student paying bills, rent, and getting through one more college semester w/out loans. Almost there though.

My Shoei RJ Platinum-R Open Face Helmet fits perfectly under the seat. I can close and lock (just barely). No marks left on helmet.
