2006 Blur "creeping" at idle question

Post by hungcanuck »

Hey Blurthusiasts,

My 2006 with over 40k BDU's on it has started creeping forward when I start it up and when I'm stopped and let go of the brake.

I adjusted the idle below specs as a test and it is still creeping forward.

Any idea on what might be causing this? Is it possibly something to do with the idle gears?

Thanks and happy riding!

The centrifical clutch is the cause of the 'creep'
Either one (or more) of the clutch 'shoes' are delaminating from their web or one or more of the clutch return springs have lost their tension.
Either will allow the clutch shoes to contact the clutch hub and in turn, try to move the input shaft to the wheel.
There is also the possibility that one or more of the centrifical clutch pivots is so rusty the spring cant pull it fully away from the clutch drum.

Best guess from this distance.

Thanks again Rob you were right!

I took off the clutch and a hook from one of the springs was broken off and sitting in the case. The clutch is from 2006 so I may as well replace the whole shabang.

Tried to call Noho scooters for the part and found out they closed after 10 years. RIP Noho scooters it was a great shop.

Rob I owe you a six pack!
