Accesories

Post by jbuddy »

Hey I just picked up my Black Buddy yesterday and I already had two people stop and get out of the car to ask about it. I have been doing a lot of research on scooters and really like the Buddy so I had a lot of good things to say. What I was wondering is if we can get a post of all the people that have done some of there own accesories and upgrades in the same place. I am really looking for some pictures! The dealer keeps moving the date back and back of when they will be availible and I am a very impatient person so I would like to maybe do some of my own modifications. Thanks
happy scooten.

What does the "Front" rack look like? I've only seen the front "Basket" online.

I hope it looks something like the one in Stella. I really am not too keen on the basket type (pictured in the Buddy broshure).

Dear, God, YES! :D The topcase is what I'm waiting for. But a wicker basket? I guess I'd have to see it, but doesn't it sound a little "Roman Holiday" and therefore more of a Stella/vintage Vespa style than the Buddy?

I can just hear the "Wicked Witch" music now. . . Maybe I could get a terrier and carry it around in by Buddy Basket.;)

Any metal workers out there?
How about getting some custom stainless steel racks in the works?

There's really no end in sight to the revolving dates.

Some guy on the Yahoo board said this:
All Dealers should have accessories within two weeks
Not sure how accurate that is, but I am looking for it.

they've been saying that the accessories should be in in "two weeks" since June. it seems to be the standard answer genuine gives when they don't actually know when they'll get in.

I spoke with the owner of the Atomic Brown Scooter Shop here in Oklahoma City today regarding the chrome rear rack that I ordered, and she told me that the shipment will be arriving in Chicago tomorrow, and will be shipping out of there to the various locales soon thereafter.

Hopefully all of us who have orders pending will receive them in the proverbial "two weeks."[/i]

You can check our website under the "for the rider" section. We have some cool universal accessories. Give us a month or so, and we'll be stocking some Buddy specific stuff.

It's 8-21, so I gathered that the accessories haven't arrived yet? (The post above said the shipment will arrive in Chicago on Aug 18.)

accessories

Post by tuscadero »

hi everyone
I bought my pink buddy from Xtreme Skooters in Bel Air MD and my husband talked to the owner yesterday and was told that Genuine does not have the brackets for the accessories yet. Really I am not sure what else could happen. The lack of space makes for lack of riding for me any way maybe we'll get them before the first snow!?

Welcome to the "Family" Tuscadero.....is your husband's name "Fonzie" Sorry, couldn't resist. I have a Pink Buddy too and I love it. Mine is in the shop at the moment having some cosmetic work done. I'm swapping some of the pink panels for black and the seat too. Also have a Back Rack on order and like you said, there's no brackets available for it yet. :scream:

I'm picking up my new buddy tomorrow (weather permitting).

I'd like a front rack, instead of that basket.

Has anyone heard anything new?

Still no word from Atomic Brown here in OKC. I am headed to their shop tomorrow for my first dealer oil change/service call and plan to ask about it. In the mean time, I'm hoping to repaint my Buddy over the upcoming holiday weekend...

When we picked up our Scooters on thursday afternoon the dealer said that the first shipment of accesories is in the US, but is waiting for its turn to go through customs. Guess they got to x-ray everything and make sure no terrorists are hiding in that pink top case. Thats what my dealer told me anyway.
Take off the tin foil hat and let the voices drive for a minute. It'll be fine.

I've emailed them to ask if they're actually in stock and ready to ship. We shall see. First one with a top case wins a prize!*

*You get the first top case. Congrats.

I heard a rumor that the accessories have arrived already and they're being cleared through custom. Did anyone else hear anything like that?

BTW, got a NEW Buddy brochure at the dealer today; it's not online yet. It has photos of the wicker basket and 3 variations of windscreens: Faco-style mid and tall versions. The front also has the cream color. Awesome.

I will try to scan and post pics later.
