Leaving it out in the rain?

So I just had my new Stella dropped off today. I ordered a cover for it but the cover is not delivered yet.

Unfortunately, it is raining pretty hard today and tomorrow and my brand new Stella is sitting in the rain.

I just want to make sure that these do no have issues with that.

Living in the UK we drive throughout the year in all weathers and generally the scoot should be fine,, make sure the engine cover has a good seal on the rubber and the spark plug rubbers are good,,, for body work you could try a coating of ACF 50. Spray or paint on gloop that will give good prevention for water and salt ,,, should be able to get it stateside thru ebay ..

We've heard of water getting into the switch housing of the kill switch and turn sigs.. if your bike ever refuses to start now going foward, be advised that your problem could very well be that your kill switch contacts have shorted out inside the housing.

I ride mine in the rain all the time, they do pretty well. As jimbomb said, the kill switches on he older ones were prone to getting wet, other than that they don't seem to be bothered by the wet.

Well it sat in the rain for two days. Brand new. Never riden.

When I went to ride it it would not start. Dealer picked it up to get it running.

Still have never ridden it.

On e plus side I rode a Buddy 150 today for my commute. Loved it. So quick. It literally cut my commute time almost in half. Lane splitting at traffic lights alone was wonderful.

I was in Temecula last week and being from Texas where lane splitting is not legal it really freaked me out to watch it being done. I was a bit jealous though.

ask them to disconnect the kill switch.

Exactly what the problem was - the kill switch.

Apparently Buddy has an updated switch because they are aware of the frequency of the issue. So they sent the dealer the updated switch. If it happens again I will ask that they disconnect it.

Oh, and was so in love with the little 150 that I now am the owner of a Black Stella and a Silver 170I.

I have impulse control issues.
