2013 Kymco 50cc 2t derestriction help

Post by drew2stroke »

Hello everyone. As the subject says I have a 2013 Kymco Super 8 2t. Im looking for a good mechanic that does work on 2 strokes. Im looking to put a 70CC BBK on it, I can do the clutch, variator pipe etc.. I would also like to get the gears changed out. If you know of anyone please let me know. Thanks.

Drew,

Your Kymco uses a derivative of the Honda AF16/AF18 engine, which came in the Honda Elite SR from the late '90s. The Honda was also known as the Dio and is very popular among 50cc tuners for its performance potential. I'm going to recommend that you check out http://www.hondaspree.net for assistance in tuning your bike; the folks there are a wealth of information. Just don't let maddog get to you.

Alternatively, you could check out KymcoForum. There's a dedicated section for the Super 8, and I even found a performance thread: http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=12119.0
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Seven mopeds ...that's still manageable...

Okay Thanks!!! Yesterday I switched out my restricted variator boss to a unrestricted variator boss. I gained 10mph. Next is some roller weights. Right now it has 8.5 grams , but I would like to add maybe 6 gram weights to it for better exceleration. Thanks again.
