2008 Speedo Pinion Removal

Hello -

I need to replace the speedo pinion on my 2008 Stella 2T, but I cannot seem to get the metal housing/bracket/spacer/whatever off - is there a trick here?

Basically I took the bolt and securing plate off, and pulled the speedo cable out, but now there is just a metal hole which I assume I need to remove to get to the pinion.

Any help would be appreciated!

Spin your wheel in reverse and it should lift out,if not a magnet or needle nose pliers should do the trick.
