Carb/Exhaust Tuning (Continued)

Post by ericalm »

A couple months ago, I mounted the first generation Tasso 4T 150 exhaust and added a RAM Air filter. I could use some advice at this point… :)

First jetting: stock. Performance at about stock. Engine would sputter and choke when run at high RPMs, almost cutting out. Some of that was fixed when air/fuel mix was richened. Exhaust popped and burped a lot.

Second jetting: 95 main/42 idle. Too rich! Loss of performance. Exhaust noisy.

Third jetting: 92 main/40 idle using the original jet, not a replacement. Performance good. Exhaust still popping a lot, but not as much as before.

Any suggestions for reducing the noise from the pipe?

I believe the V2 has a longer muffler which makes the exhaust quieter it also has a welded swing arm bracket instead of the 'hanger'.

As for making the V1 quieter,I'm not sure if its possible.
