Stella 2T has been sitting for a year

Hi,
My wife has a 2005 2T Stella. Due to a theft/recovery and other life related issues, it has been sitting in a garage for a little over a year. I would like to get it up and running while she is out of town next week as a surprise. I'm fairly handy but overall pretty inexperienced in scooter maintenance.

Is this a job I should attempt on my own or should I get a professional to do it? If the former, do you guys have any advice/guides that may be of assistance?

Siphon out the old gas, add new gas with some Seafoam, make sure it has 2T oil, kick the snot out of it until it starts!

Should I siphon and replace the oil as well? Upon it starting should i let it run for a period of time?

Personally I wouldn't. If it starts...which it probably will, let it run for a while. If it starts revving up high on it's own shut it down and we'll go from there.

I've had an LML 150 premix sit for over a year and start up on like the third kick and that was with the old gas. They are tough little motors designed to run on almost anything...but ethenol does suck.
