weird shifting problem

Hey all. I'm having a weird shifting problem. This is a Stella manual 4t. When shifting between third or fourth i have to back off the throttle for it to change gears. At least that's what it feels like. For instance , I shift from 3rd to 4th fine but engine rpms are still high and it doesn't feel like its in the right gear. When I back down on the throttle back can feel it shift and rpms drop.

Has anyone had this happen. Not sure what's causing. Also it seems to be intermittent and doesn't happen every time. Mostly after I have been riding for a while.

Possibly it's the clutch slipping.

How many miles do you have on your Stella?

Doesn't one always have to back off the throttle when changing from 3rd to 4th? Have to match the gear speed inside the magic transmission case so that the cruciform can do it's thing.

How loose are your shift cables? You should only be able to wiggle the left handle slightly when the bike is off. Loose and dirty cables will cause a bit of shifting troubles.

I always throttle down when shifting any gear.up or down
