Spark Plug that works for 2012 Stella 4T

Post by froggermario »

Hi all!
New Stella owner here :)

Please pardon me if this seems like a silly question.

I am pretty sure that I need a new spark plug (starter tries it's darnedest, but the engine won't turn over).

I was browsing the forums and I noticed a lot of debate about the best spark plug to get, but.....

Can someone tell me if the NGK (7473) C8EH-9 Standard Spark Plug will work? I really need the part ASAP and I'm not sure I'll be able to get to a special scooter parts store during business hours today.

I know the owner's manual lists this plug, but I saw someone else having a problem with a plug that the manual recommended (RG4HC - Champion). I wish I could get this at O'Reilly or Autozone, but they don't seem to have it :(

I am also going to try to clean the spark plug when I get home today, but having a spare on-hand wouldn't be a bad thing!

Thanks!

I don't know the answer, but do try the cleaning and check the gap to be sure it's within spec. The manual should have the gap measurements.

I've searched the valley to no avail as well. I finally purchased mine from Partzilla. It's a Honda equivalent to the NGK, but I've put 4000 miles on it and all is well.

NGK C8EH-9 is the correct NGK plug for the Stella 4T and the only plug for the 4T that seems to be readily available in the US.

The service manual lists the plug as RG4HC - Champion
UHR3CC - MICO BOSCH.

I recently ordered this BOSCH UR2CC from amazon which according to BOSCH is an acceptable replacement:
