High Idle

Post by magnato1 »

Hey all,

Just recently my Stella has started idling higher, and I don't really need to use the choke to warm it up. Only if it's really cold, and then it only takes 30 secs and I can turn the choke off. I'm guessing this is a valve adjustment, which I don't have the time of the tools to address, but any other suggestions before I take it to SF Scooter Centre?

Thanks

If I was you, I would not self diagnose it has a valve adjustment is needed. Leave that up to the pros, to troubleshoot and diagnose any problems. In the meantime, just whip out a screwdriver and turn your idle down a little bit. It's possible that the vibration may have turn your idle screw to make it idle faster. Just turn it counter clockwise an eighth of a turn maybe more and see how it goes.

yep. Very high idle.. make sure your carb bolts are tight, and the carb top and cover, bowl, is nice and tight.
