Malossi Carb Upgrade ..... mystery part....

Post by JewelryMonk »

Bought a Malossi 19mm carb and it came with a
Silencer Tube for Filter? Where does it go?
Also what do you do with the Auto Choke that was on the stock carb?
Sorry for all the questions, but this is the place to get answers.

Can't help you with the tube thingies, but I can tell you that your auto choke can no longer be used since your new Dell'Orto carb has a manual choke. Carb kits usually come with parts to install a remote choke lever somewhere on the bike so you don't have to fumble around the dark reaches of your engine compartment to operate the choke. My experience with your particular installation is pretty limited since I've only worked on 2-stroke motorcycles which is a bit different from scooters.

Perhaps YouTube has some useful videos that might help.

Thanks, I just unplugged the auto-choke and kept it with the old carb.
Kept the tube in the box.....

How is that working out for you? Doing he same thing. With the carb. upgrade, don't you need a intake manifold and performance reeds?
