horn going off?

Post by nmforbes »

Here's an interesting one,
Today when I went out to start I turned the Stella 150 4t on, and turned the handlebars all the way to the left. The horn went off.
Only happened briefly and if i go to a certain point it will stay on. Around 10 o'clock.
Is it common to have a short?
Hasn't happened at all until today.

Granted I dont normally turn the bars that much but it can be embarrassing when parking.

Any help is appreciated!

Yep, normal for a Stella. The horn power wire will need to be replaced.

Same thing happened to me. Replace the wire before it completely breaks (like mine did)

Okay, I'll pop the headcover off this evening, what color is the horn wire?
Or will it be quite easy to see which one it is. I suppose I can trace the wire to the horn button, but just in case there is a mess of wires.

Unscrew the left side switch and see what color wire attaches to the horn button.
