Stella 2T engine power loss after empty fuel tank.

Post by Josiah »

Was taking long trip / run out for a 177 kit and ran out of fuel, went to the side switched to reserve and started back up. When it started it ran with low power. Refueled today, same problem. It's topping in 1st at 10 mph, 2nd at 20 ect, good initial power but cuts out at mid to high rpms. Is it an air bubble in the line?

You likely didn't run out of gas, you soft seized. Feels pretty much the same and now you are down on compression and power.

Checked today, plug showed it was running rich, burned soot off plug and went from 118 to 120, still rich then back to original jet that I had before the 177 kit. Its running well now, like it was before the 130 mile trip. Oh and for some reason the fuel gauge went out during today's tinkering.

Does a soft seize mean...new piston, rings and jug time? And ANOTHER break in period for those too?
Or can you get by with continued running?
