It would be interesting to see how many drink Starbucks and use Macs. Sounds like a demographic.
I suspect you may be on to something with the macs and NPR but like was said by another here, I too would think there are better options than starbucks, we may want to add wine drinkers to the parameters as well, never can tell, a trend may very well be spotted, and it may very well go nation wide if its not there already..... :D

Homebrewer here - but I havent brewed in a few years. I used to be a full mash kind of guy, but these days I'm inclined to partial mash brews, with homegrown hops.

But I've been brewing since Ive been underage (early 80s!), and I find there is less and less reason to brew when I can get all the variety of beers I want in the store.

The only reason I fire up the brewkettle now anyway is to make Ginger Beer - virtually everything else I make I can find commercially.
Man - I love a nice Ginger Pale Ale.
I was told by my wife that I have too much money and not enough hobbies.... or something like that.

You have to share your Ginger PA recipe with me. I am ginger fiend! I'm still sort of depressed about not being able to get Genger Altoids anymore.
I've been thinking about growing my own hops, but I think it may get too warm here.

Good stuff on this thread. We tried hard to make a Cooper S work for us but after a few test drives I realized it was the wrong choice for my wife's daily driver. This week she started a new job where she can walk to work. I think that if we knew this was happening, we would've tried the Mini because we could've gone with a manual tranny if she's not commuting every day. Added side benefit: room in our parking space for a 3rd bike.

Now that I ride to work almost every day, the one thing I miss about my commute is NPR. Still listen on weekends though.

Computer: PCs and Macs at work, Mac at home.

Coffee: Peets New Guinea brewed at home. Also Daz Bog and Denver idies. One reason I like Peets, aside from the great beans, is the attitude, attention to detail and enthusiasm of the people who work there.

Beer: all the Colorado micros, Negra Modelo, Bohemia, Guiness, Stella. You can't go wrong with a beer named Stella...

The internet? Is that fad still around?

Yes to beer. Newcastle, Guinness, Milwaukee's Best.... you know...all the good stuff.

No thanks to NPR as it puts me to sleep along with most talk radio. Fan of WOXY.

I get my caffeine through Coke Zero and am not a fan of coffee, although, I do love the smell of it.

Drive a Subaru Legacy as a backup to my b125.

Born and raised PC because of price, familiarity (IT degree), and Macs aren't compatible with some specialty software I use for work.

:x SCREW THE XD!!! you don't ruin a good car and get away with it! I'll just have to get a used one. That is, of course all hypothetically speaking since I may NEVER buy another car as long as I live!!! By the time I'm too old to scoot, I probably won't have driving privileges anyway.

NPR - I like most of it, though I admit to being a bit of an Air America junkie too - it's like pesticide for Rush Limbaugh and similar ilk.

Beer - Guinness, if it's poured correctly.
I also love a good marguerita.

Coffee - Brewed at home in a french press. But I've been known to go into a chain or two when finances allow (like right after taking out a 2nd mortgage). Though my wife is now medically unable to have caffeine, so I can't hit the needle and spoon in front of her.

Food - A lot of protein - I'm no vegetarian I'm afraid. I probably have very bad karma.

Computer - Mac at home; PC when the Man makes me.

Car - 2003 Honda Element.

T.V.- Lost, TCM (old movies rock!)
Maude Lebowski: What do you do for recreation?
The Dude: Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

I agree- i like starbucks, but it's become somewhat cliched (sp). Also, and I hat eto admit it, but the new McDonald's coffee isn't half bad. Actually, I haven't had SB in a while, and I drink a lot of coffee.

I didn'y mention my taste in music. My itunes playlist is pretty eclectic- blues, classical, big band, classic rock ( very little country and NO rap!) But my alltime favorite is the Boss- I like to buzz down the road on my scoot with "Born to Run" in my head!

If we are gonna start talking about fast food coffee, I gotta put a vote in for Chick-fil-a; they have some decent coffee. But why do I only crave their breakfast on Sundays lol

Chick-fil-A is getting a lot of play on the forum these days! Maybe it's some zetgeisty kinda thing. Maybe the universe is telling me to make the hour-long ride south to go get some.

McD's now has a knock-off chicken sandwich, complete with pickles. I'm sure it's not comparable to the real thing.

(For those who don't know Chick-fl-As are all closed Sundays.)

I tried the breakfast one from McD (ran out of milk so could not make my morning oatmeal) and it was odd. It tasted like pickles but there was no pickles on it. Who wants pickles for breakfast :?

NPR: During my afternoon commute. Calms me down. I listen to a lot of talk radio at other times. Sports. Left wing talk. Right wing talk.
Mac?: Nah. I do Autocad at work and need PC
Starbucks?: Nah. I can drink most any coffee.
Beer: Ale. Preferably brewed locally. Like a dry red wine best.
Car: I have a small pickup truck. I need a truck sometimes for my job.

Mac: Never
Coffee: McDonalds, Starbucks, Pete's, it's all good.
Beer: I'm no snob. It's all good except for light beer and IPA's.

NPR: I listen to the radio only when my morning alarm goes off or I'm driving the truck. NPR is listened to occasionally in the morning.

Mac: Repaired them when they were beige and the casings had the design team's names molded in. Own a NeXTStation, the machine from which Apple adopted the Mach kernel. Quit caring when it became less of a alternative machine and more of a lifestyle item.

Coffee: Can't enjoy it. I have tea and a Keurig. Occasionally a Vanilla Bean frappucino from SB is nice.

Beer: No thanks, not much of a drinker. Wine only with a good meal.

Car: Nissan Frontier, aka the scooter hauler: 6-cylinder, 6-speed, 2WD, value truck package (meant for hauling and towing) with a Scangauge E fitted to keep me judicious in my throttle usage.
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Since this thread has been resurrected from the dead, I'll add in my two cents:

I don't listen to NPR, I actually prefer Google Play Music (mostly classic rock) while riding my scooters.

I don't drink any coffee, preferring diet soda or the occasional hot tea.

I used Windows for years but have recently switched to Chrome for most computer based things and have been on Android for smartphones and tablets since 2010. I definitely don't do Apple products.

I don't drink alcohol as a general rule. Back to my diet soda addiction.

I drive a Chevrolet Suburban with literally 11 times the engine displacement of my Piaggio MP3 and 100+ times the displacement of my Buddy 50 and Black Cat 50.

I sometimes drink Starbucks, use a Mac, would love to have a Mini, haven't listened to NPR in 10+ years, favorite beer is Shiner Bock Prickly Pear. There is a "car" smaller than the Mini I would love to have. Called an Elio. 3 wheels, 900 cc, 84 mpg & 100 mph top speed. $6,800. I want one but, it's a start up & they haven't actually made anything but prototypes. Supposed to ship 4th quarter this Fall. I'd drop in a link but I don't want to post advertising so search "Elio Motors" if you're curious. Looks like it would be a blast to drive. Anyway, my car is a bare bones Hyundai Accent. Bought the wife a nice SUV & have a Ford Ranger my dad gave me before he died but I don't drive it much. 17 mpg but it gets borrowed a lot.

I only drink Starbucks when there's one near by, I'd have to go 15-20 miles from home to find one.
Beer, is something different too. Over the last several years a few micro-brewerys have opened locally and I've been enjoying the craft beers other than the nationally sold mass produced brews.
NPR is on in the car from time to time, but I haven't been in it but 5-6 times since April, I'm riding the scooter. It's an older Jeep Liberty that gets lousy gas mileage.
When I had a 'significant other' we would ride 2-up to 'cultural events' like lawn concerts and the like when weather permitted.
Aging is mandatory, growing up is optional.
My kids call me 'crazy', I prefer 'Eccentric'.

Wow, I didn't know threads could survive after eight years!

I'll drink Starbucks (drip decaf only) if nothing else is near
I listen to NPR when in the truck, mostly on - "wait, wait, don't tell me" - weekends
I like beer, especially stouts and porters, but Negro Modelo is my daily beer
I still drive my 15 year old GMC 1/2 ton. Still on its original brakes!

NPR--- NO. Listened for most of my 62 years: NOW, I loathe their liberal slant and feel taken advantaged of. But, I love Click and Clack. Really miss them. Nobody can make me laugh as they do. They were Gems.

Starbucks? Hmm. Occasionally, but for some reason I'm a little suspicious of the corporation, though don't know why.

Scooters are awesome. The more the better. I love the "Share the Road" signs here in MN. It's good to see lots of bicycles out in rural areas, and it empowers me to ride the rural roads, too.

Beer. Use to make my own, and sampled all the micro kinds, but I admit my favorite now is simply Miller Lite. Can't take too much alcohol.

Best wishes to everyone.

Tacos made by real Mexican immigrants not gringos
Sailing yes but sail-less for now, but an inflatable kayak stuffed in my camper
Bicycles- 3 , a modded mountain bike for daily duty, a recumbent for long hauls and a tri bike I inherited from my daughter
Restoring a 70's Solex moped! And owned by a 165 year old farm house in the city.

Enjoyable reading, but it sounds like scooter owners are about as culturally homogenious as Corvette owners. Very diverse.
