Finally replaced my Center stand!

Post by Yalzin »

I noticed a few weeks ago that my scooter was listing to the side while on the stand. A few days later, I saw a little bulge on my floorboard where it was trying to escape through the metal!

On investigating, I noticed that something looked out of place on the stand.

So I ordered the reinforced one from scooterworks

Now she looks much better!

Bonus 1: That handy foot thing most scooters have!

Bonus 2: No more having to buy boots!

Neat!

I've had to replace the stock stand boots on my center stand already only after a year and a half of use... (Got some nice Piaggio ones) Of course I have a sidecar so I mainly use the stand to keep the bike from rolling back when I park it. :P

The Indian rubber is crap rubber...

I lost count of how many of the rubber boots I have gone through over the course of almost 11,000 miles.

A few months ago, I bought some of the polished alloy boots. Still have them, but they are pretty chewed up as well :\

Have had one over a year. They rock. My boots were gone in like 2 months.

That stand is on the short list of things to replace once I'm completely happy the bike is running how I want it to.

I detest those rubber boots and, honestly, the metal ones suck, too.

Strangely I havent had to replace the boots on any of my 4ts while I had to replace them every 6 months on my 2 stroke LMLs.

Be careful parking on hills with the better feet.

I have those with the metal feet on mine. A word of caution - there is a little warpage of the metal on the floorboards when using those stands. It does not concern me, but for those who want to keep their Stella pristine, it might be a deal.
