UGH! Brake Fluid Blues

Post by phaedrus »

In the middle of my last ride on the Stella my front brake handle depressed completely with zero braking. No resistance at all :(

I got her home and checked the brake fluid level to find that there was zero fluid in the reservoir. Last night I got some DOT4 and topped it off, depressed front brake handle and then saw the fluid pool up under the front tire. At that point was I too frustrated and inexperienced to diagnose further, but obviously I have a leak somewhere.

It's a real bummer because my club's scooter rally kicks off tomorrow :(

I'll take any advice that you'd be willing to share...

Bummer about your front brake. My 08 developed a leak at the 'crimp' fitting the banjo bolt as it goes into the caliper.
No repairing that sucker. Only repllacement.
Just wait till you research the price of a new hose.
Scooter Rally in St Louis too this weekend.
Missouri Loves Company Rally 4.
