max speed stock

Post by RoaringTodd »

For those of you with stock RH50' what is the max speed you have GPS verified?

Today I hit 50 on the speedometer, but my GPS indicated 44mph.

230 lbs here. RH has 235 miles on her. Still new. ish

I can get my speedo to about 5mph past the 50mph line, but my tires are too small to be riding with only 1 hand at that point, so I'm unable to GPS verify.

That's interesting. I'm slightly shy of the 50mph line. What's your weight?

I can get mine to about 53/54 on speedo but haven't tried GPS. I got it in November so was waiting to really push it until I hit 300 miles, just did. I am 6'1" 250lbs.

I'm 5'10" and 225. I can hit 40 mph maybe a little higher like 43 at WOT. I've said it before and I'll say it again! You guys suck! I just got a slow one. It's a 2015, derestricted, and verified a few times by the dealer here in New Orleans. But its fine, it gets me around the city just fine , however, I do wish I could get 5 more mph out of it! Then on some of the busy roads I'm not a nuisance.

You gotta learn how to tuck, lol.

I pegged the speedo with a 20mph tailwind while riding it like superman

Can't offer much other than I am 165ish and I have had it pegged past 50 a few times. My thought is that the engine can handle the trans just fine and if I did a 70cc kit I would look into an "up gear".
PGO makes great scooters. That is all.

No, not stock, it has a 70 kit and a pipe, but that IS on level ground. I try not to do that too often. I figure keeping it under 50 is a good way to keep it alive for a long time.
Oh, and I weigh in at 260 FYI.

Best I can do. The tuck seems to do nothing. This was on flag ground. GPS said 42mph :-(

Tucking down doesn't matter as much as tucking in your knees.

GPS 63mph once. It was on a down hilll with some favorable winds pushing me forward. Usually flat ground about 43-45mph is avg top speed. I am 5'9'" 190lbs.

42 mph GPS verified. With all of my riding gear on I'm pushing 190 lbs. and I'm 5' 11" tall. I seriously doubt that the RH50 is capable of anything more than 42 mph, unless you're on a long downhill stretch with a strong wind at your back.

Once I'm going over 35MPH (indicated) I generally figure I'm going about 5MPH less than whatever the speedometer says. Never did a GPS check but had my daughter follow me one time for a speed check to see how fast I was going according to the car speedometer. I weigh 250ish and can get my RH speedometer needle on a good day into the yellow just touching 50MPH. About 45MPH in reality I think is tops for me.

That being said I was riding into a fairly brisk wind tonight head on and I could barely hold 35MPH indicated. My winter jacket is bulky and acts like a sail when the winds are keeping the flags straight out. Once I changed direction and was taking gusts from the side I was able to get back to around 45MPH indicated while trying to hold the line.

stock 42 mph

Stock derestricted is GPS 42 mph--reads about 48 on the speedo.
Added a 70 kit and rejetted - 47 mph gps--shows "M" on the speedo. Gets there ALOT quicker though. Great mod.

My stock experience exactly. The 70 kit is tempting but as I just purchased the scooter new last month, I'd lose its 2 year warranty. I'll just have to be patient and enjoy what I already have. Even at 42 mph, it's definitely a fun ride.
