What size spark plug socket?

Post by New2Scoots »

Planned on taking a look at my spark plug but no idea what size socket I need. My 5/8" socket is too small, though it fits the new iridium plug I wanted put in. Don't want to guess & make several trips to Lowe's. Thx.

There are only two socket/sparkplug sizes; 5/8 and 13/16. But, I can't imagine your scooter engine having the larger size sparkplug. Even big bore motorcycles don't use the larger size...well, maybe Harley. Most of today's cars use the smaller size.

My bad. It is a 5/8" plug. The plug was loose so I thought the socket was just spinning around the top but it was unscrewing it. Will check in a few hundred miles to see if this one gets loose.

Babblefish,
The Stella 2t uses the 13/16 spark plug.

Ha! Figures. Old engine design, like in my 66 Mustang.
