(NBR) Anyone have a SSR Laser 5 moped?

Post by mhardgrove »

Hey all. Anyone own one of these? I'm seeing mixed reviews and wanted to know if it was worth the risk?

Basically looking to replace the stolen buddy with something that I can easily store on a deck.

Insurance didn't pay off enough for a replacement Buddy?

Don't waste your money on that Chinese, poor quality piece of junk. Find yourself a nice used Tomos or a vintage Puch moped. They're two stroke and very easy to work on.

I got right at $2,000 for a 7 year old scooter, I feel that's not horrible. This happened December 2015. Ended up deciding not to get another scooter while we lived where we did, as neighbors had their bikes and scooters stolen also.

Like the buddy, I do, but I need a "moped" so I can use the bike lane legally in Colorado.

I saw a post where a Lazer owner replaced the 50cc mill with a Lifan 140cc for a nice boost in speed. The pedals were not compatible with the Lifan, so it was no longer a real moped.
