After 21 years of personally changing and checking my oil in 24 scooters, I finally discovered that I had not screwed my dipstick on the Hooligan in completely. How, you may ask.
This morning I went to the garage as the first step in riding to coffee when I noticed an oil puddle beneath the Hooligan. I got on the Sym and went out, and after a short time came home, thinking " oh, my gawd, what could be causing my scooter to suddenly spring the oil leak? And I was dreading finding the leak, and then repairing it.
I got down on my knees and checked the metal screen filter plug...no leak.
And then, scanning upwards I noticed I could see some threads on the dipstick cap. After removing the cap and simply screwing it in not "cross- threaded" the leak was fixed.
Just sayin' ALWAYS check to make sure your dipstick is screwed-in snugly.
