Part ID (carburetor)

Hello,

Thanks to all the great info here, I was able to work on my carburetor and get rid of the rough idle issue. Upon putting it back together and tightening the last bolt, I found this piece. It's a rubber boot. Not the one that goes on the throttle cable.

Where does it go? And would it be ok to leave out? Or should I tear into it again and put it back? Thanks for any input.

That's the boot that slides over the accelerator pump shaft. See pic.

Thank you! I'll try to see if I can put it back on without disassembling the whole thing. By the way, I've got the same scooter--'08 St Tropez.
