Swapping the horn

Post by Wasatch Scootah »

My horn on my 2008 Buddy 150 does not work very well. There seems to be a second or two delay after I hit the button as well. I am wanting to just change out the horn to a more traditional "beep beep" horn. Years ago, I took out the horn on my Civic. I am wondering if this would fit and work in the Buddy. Anyone done this before?

The buddy horn is 12v with two prongs. It's easy to get to under the front legshield. Your civic horn should work.

Just be careful as the civic horn may draw more current than the original and could fry your horn button. To protect against this, use a relay to power the horn from a direct connection to your battery and trigger the relay with the 12v from the horn button.
