Handlebars won't lock

Post by Mike1nw »

2009 Buddy 125

Handlebars won't lock when turned to the left, you can't turn the key to the LOCK symbol and remove it. The handlebars never "catch".

Any ideas? I'll tear into it in the meantime.

The lock barrel might be buggered. Maybe it's just stuck from disuse? Take off the nose cover, hit that lock pin with wd40, and work the key back and forth to see if it'll free up.

Operator error

Ya don't push in the key to lock, ya just turn it....

Well, I did learn how the front plastic etc. comes apart, on the + side.

I had the same problem. You turn the handle bars all the way left and then slightly to the right. You hold it in that position and then the key will turn and let you lock them up. Strange but true.
