torquing rear wheel nut

Post by Mike1nw »

2009 Buddy 125

How do you torque the rear wheel nut? Someone sits on the bike and holds the rear brake on? The torque value is quite large.

It looks like you remove the muffler to torque it?

Right or wrong, I use an electric impact wrench which is plenty for taking the nut off or putting it back on without having to lock the rear wheel.
Some people can break a crowbar in a sandbox.

I push down on the seat with one hand while I wrench with my other.

Also helpful to clamp the rear brake down. Clamp the lever down with a heavy cable tie, rope, etc. (assuming you don't have an assistant).
