Stylish Armored Jackets

Post by FourLegsGood »

I'm currently riding with a green Corazzo Tempeste which I love but it's burning hot in the summer and I'm wanting something that'll match my black Stella. Just discovered that Baracuta made an armored Harrington a few years ago but they seem to be sold out everywhere!

Same story with Tucano Urbano's Cottage Blazer which looks AMAZING but is no longer in production (and they don't ship directly to the US)

Would love something classic and mod like a blazer or harrington jacket. Also an armored anorak/hiking smock or a fishtail parka (although those wouldn't help me much in the summer).

Obviously Belstaffs are gorgeous but 1) they don't make them in XS and 2) I'd pay more for a jacket than I did for my scoot.

Still...

Check out GoGo Gear, I've been wearing one of their armored hoodies about 6 years and love it. I can also wear it under any other coat or jacket to both look good and be protected.

The GoGoGear Harrington does look fetching. They're outta XS at the moment.

One name that used to crop up in these conversations was Armadillo Scooter Wear. They make a fishtail parka called "The Jimmy"

Also a nice looking trench for those looking to cop the "Ace Face" style

I also picked up a Black Brand Street Team Jacket a couple years ago, may me not the style you're looking for, but it works for me.

Barbour made an extremely brief run of armored jackets. This place has some available in Medium and XL.

Huh? :D

Really, the Black Brand Street Team jacket looks nice. If they only had it in Hi-Viz!

I wear a Hi-Viz vest over it, take it off when I get off the scoot, that way I look like I'm wearing a 'normal' jacket.

Not necessarily a winter jacket for me in South Central Pennsylvania, but it's plenty warm and wind resistant, roomy enough for me to wear a fleece layer or wool sweater under it. Great ventilation for warmer, under 85•F, weather too.

I like the look, but expensive when you have to buy the armor separately.
