Reed valve cleaning

Post by scooterdork »

On my 2T - I had great results using Chem-Dip for the filthy carb components. Look like new. Is there a reason not to drop the reed valve into it? What about the airbox, minus the grommets?

Thanks for sharing any good or bad experiences with the Chem-Dip

ultrasonic cleaner + simple green hd and water...pull the carb bowl drop it in the solution...turn on the heat...turn on the unit...run through as many 8 min cycles it takes to get it clean (change out solution if really dirty)...blow out with air compressor...dry with hairdryer...reassemble and reinstall...i use this method on all my small engine carbs as well as other things
