How many miles are on your scooter?

Post by Legend »

I was wondering how reliable these scooters are and how much people really ride them...so...

How many miles on on your scooter and how long have you had it for?

EDIT: I thought I put a 10K plus on there but maybe not......sorry.

Ive logged about 3500 Since October 07. You might want to add a 10,000+ option. At least a few members have serious milage.

Been riding on nice days, 27 miles rocks!

If I remember right, someone is still riding their buddy with 20,000 miles on it and still going.

I've got an '06 Sunset Buddy which I picked up in August 2006. I just rolled over 8,000 last time I rode. I'm waiting for the spring to kick in so I can start commuting again.

Nope. Not enough options. I had over 15,000 on mine when I sold it and Lou76 has to have over 17,000 now and Lord only knows how many Bonegirl has!!!

I agree, there are not enough options – I don’t have the big numbers as some members have but 10K is coming around soon.

I KNOW, I'm a NEWBY!!!

I've had my Bud for about 3 weeks & only have 150 miles. I would have more if I didn't injure my friggin KNEES! AH! It still bugs me... At least my scoots ok and I just got some knee pads, so I'm gonna be riding more.

I brought Pinkie home in early December, 335 miles on the odometer and hadn't even ridden it until two weeks ago. That weekend, at 36 degrees, I put almost a hundred miles on. With over 8 inches of snow yesterday, it will most likely be April before any more miles get ridden, especially with the way things are going.

Current odo = 429

PS I GPS'd my ride on Sunday and saw these numbers;
Indicated 32 = 28
Indicated 60 = 54

Thanks coopdway for the speedo numbers. Mine showed even more error but it was with a car with unknown error also.

I figure that to be an average 12% error towards the high. Would that mean that you, and others would have a 12% error in mileage as well?

You can add an option to a poll when you edit your message. I took the liberty of adding 10,000+ since you said you had wanted it on there. Also...

Around 13K on my Vespa. The Buddy is around 1K. My wife sat out the cold and rainy season (short as it was) and is ready to ride again. That said, I think she's avoiding the Buddy since getting her mind set on a Stella. She's just like that. ;)

I LOVE the Buddy

Actually, I am nearing 17,000 miles (should make it this week) in less than 2 years. Thsi Cincinnati weather was rough this winter. Lagerhead just put my 4th set of new tires on today (whitewalls, no less!). So I really have no complaints and have had no problems since Day 1. I sing the praises of Her Royal Pinkness and all other Buddy scoots!

Here it is today in honor of my Easter Ride:

The number of folks with over 10K is pretty impressive considering how long the Buddy has been available.

I should hit 3000 miles by May but I'm planning on riding the Buddy less this year. Since I bought the Buddy and the GT1000 my bicycle has been ignored and that needs to change this summer. If I put 1000 miles on the bicycle this summer something has to give somewhere.

Ditto!

(except change "GT1000" to Monster 695 and change "bought the Buddy and the GT1000" to bought just a Buddy, for me  )

I did buy myself a new 29er for Christmas though. If I get 300 miles on that I'll be suprised.

I am totally new to scooting. My Buddy is only 2.5 weeks old and I have already commuted 287 miles (including fun rides through the neighborhood and several "oh, we need this from the grocery store" trips). 81.3 miles per gallon and less than $4 a week for gas as opposed to $50... My Buddy's the best!!! Also, thanks to the forum directors for maintaining a great place to learn about scoot'n!

By the way, what's a lurker???

I'm not sure I signed up for that!

I'm hoping to do some longer range, more accurate look at this when the weather improves, just because I'm curious too, but that was my assumption too.

Yeah, it's one advantage to living in the super-expensive and insanely hot state that is America's wang.

my first scooter I bought in April of 2007. I rode it for 9 months for fun and club rides but not as a commuter (I work from home) and put 1200 miles on it.

Today I take delivery of my new Intl Buddy, the Pamplona. I suspect she will get A LOT more riding time! I'm very very excited.

I know it's a baby milestone, but I'm happy about it. Just got there on my way home yesterday. I look forward to getting to 2k much more quickly!
