What is a group of Buddys called?

Post by BuddyRaton »

I know that its a pod of whales, a school of fish aand of course a murder of crows (one of my favorites) but what is a group of Budys called? I'm leaning toward a Buzz of Buddys! Any suggestions before the first national rally?

A SCOOT of Buddies
A TANGLE of ...
A HUDDLE...
A ROAR...
A THREAT...
A SPATULA... (sorry, I just love the word "spatula")

I'll stop brainstorming now.

A Bundle?
A Berth?
A Brood?
A Bongo?

Sorry, I'm a sucker for alliteration. Especially, since my initials are BB.

Group of Buddies

I think here in Texas, we would call it a herd. Don't look at me. I didn't punch that doggy.

Definately not swarm, only because that would make the most sense for Vespas........a swarm of Vespas.

I also like illeterations......a Brigade of Buddies sounds nice.

I humbly suggest a Brap of Buddies. It's not a word, exactly, but it is the sound they make.

I dunno, maybe its just me but I see it going down like this:

Dick says to Jane “A bunch of Buddies and I are going for a cruise down the Boulevard be back in a couple
“Ok dear be back for dinner says Jane.

Verses:

Dick says to Jane “A Barb/A Bevy/A Brigade of Buddies and I are going for a cruise down the Boulevard be back in a couple
“Whaa…………….your going to see that old girl friend of yours aren’t you…….you better not be coming home yells Jane.

I like bunch. It's make sense and it's not awkward to say.

"I'm going riding with a bunch of buddies"

A bunch can be any group of buddies 3 or more.

Cluster
Sheaf
Bundle
Drove
Chum
Clan

Or getting a bit more obscure:
coterie (pronounced: COAT-er-ee)
“An intimate and often exclusive group of persons with a unifying common interest or purpose.

Or coin a term:
Scoolan (scooter+clan)

Yeah Rajron........I'd go with that one becuase I wouldn't want my bunch of buddies to go without dinner just because of semantics.

Bunch of Buddies.

Buddy Law?

How about borrowing from your signature line Kid and assigning new meaning to an existing word.....
A rebel of Buddies.

My vote's in for "band" or "brigade." Anyone want to put this up as a poll?
AND, because this is the premier (and premiere) Buddy forum, what we say goes, right? So if we select, say, "band," and you hear some n00b say he saw "a pack of Buddies," just give him a scornful look and shake your head.

I think a poll is a great idea. Lets give it a few more days and see what else people can come up with.
