I am an administrator at University of Puget Sound, from which I graduated approximately 100 years ago. Here's me and as an added bonus, Bill Freehan, Detroit Tigers mainstay 1961-76, perennial All Star and Gold Glove catcher who captained the Tigs to their 1968 World Series win with the help of Lolich, McLain, Cash, Horton, McAuliffe, Kaline of course, and all the rest.

Hi! Here is a pic of me and my Buddy that I purchased last week. New to scootering, and loving every minute of it. I work at an outsourcing firm as a team lead/sr. defined benefit pension plan analyst.

Hey! I'm in Dallas too! welcome!!!

we, north texans, have a local group too (that also has a forum) that you might be interested in joining. It's dfwscooterist.com and be sure to say hello! We're having a ride on the 19th and it'd be great if you could come too!

Christy and Stacy, I'm a bit north of you (Tulsa, OK) but I have a lot of family in the Fort Worth area. I've considered riding my scoot down there for various holiday shehbangs but I think the Texas drivers would kill me! How is scooting down there? Are other drivers respectful enough to survive?

My name's Cheryl, I've lived in Pensacola, Florida MY WHOLE LIFE... Which means I have no life.
For fun I like scooting around with my sister or my dad, going to the beach, skurfing, skating (longboard),
playing video games, bowling, drawing, billiards, designing/building stuff, cooking, eating, taking pictures,
playing "EXTREME BADMINTON!", riding my bicycle, fishing, canoeing, playing hack, etc...etc...

They are! I ride my scooter all the time. As long as it's not raining anyway. I've never had any problems with drivers being discourteous. The roads are often crowded, but I pick my routes in advance and try to avoid rush hour driving whenever possible.

Yeah, it is a small pic, but you don't really want to see any more.
I work on designing/manufacturing nameplates for the Automotive Industry.

Forgot to say my name is Diego, but most people call me D. When I first came here (USA) the people I worked with (mostly immigrants) had a hard time pronouncing my name so they called me D and it stuck.

I know someone from Hawaii who had a similair issue. But they called him E.D. because those were his initials.

He even has it that way on his drivers license now.

I work as a financial analyst for a small city government and bought the Buddy for the 3.5 mi. commute.

We'll be wanting a picture of that!

I used to know several guys who played uprights when I lived in TX. I have very fond memories of Richard Hunter smashing one on the stage at Trees during a Killbilly video shoot, Jimbo from Reverend Horton Heat playing his over his head or laying it down onstage... Ah, those were the days...

Don't think so. Killbilly was from Dallas (and FW, Arlington) and was around in the mid '80s-late '90s. The lineup changed over the years, but the main guys were Craig "Niteman" Taylor (who DJ'd a show on KNON) and Alan Wooley (who also produced the first couple Old 97s records). They were way ahead of the alt-country/No Depression era when they started and went their separate ways before cashing in on it. Like all great bands!

REGULAR badminton isn't crazy at all... the wealthy folks used to play it as a leisure sport back in the olden days (haven't you ever seen the Disney Robin Hood cartoon?). It's kinda like tennis, but has lighter raquets & a "shuttlecock" or feathered ball instead of a tennis ball, also the shuttlecock never touches the ground(or at least it's not supposed to). Anyways, we just like it a little more action-packed so we hit it really hard and crazy & yell & spin & spike it at eachothers' face. Lots of fun, I highly recommend.

Nice pics btw.

Oh, yes. Here's a sort of definition:

I know all about the regular version ... growing up, we called them birdies because I guess the parents didn't like all the giggling that came with shuttlecock. It was the EXTREME part that confused me.

Sounds fun.

Open microsoft paint

Go to "Image" and then click on "sketch/skew"

Type in 50 for the first box and 50 for the second, this sizes the picture in half. If you want any smaller, just click "edit>undo" and then go back to "sketch/skew" and type a smaller number. Keep both numbers the same so the image ratio is the same, ya dont want to make the buddy look super wide and super short!
