My new ride
Yeah I know, its not a scooter but what the heck. Its a 1972 Kawasaki G3ss. 90 ccs of 2 stroke radness. I bought it cheap in pieces and learned alot while trying to get it back together and running. My Buddy needs to stay intact and reliable so I figured it would be fun to have something to wrench on. Anyone else have a vintage bike they tool around with when not buddying?

Hey, Sunil!
That's really awesome. I love the small Japanese bikes from the '60s and early '70s. How much time did you spend working on it? And how does it ride?
I'm totally jealous because I'm not allowed to have a Honda CA 305... my heart's desire...

I got it a few months ago. It was completely in pieces, someone had started a resto project and got bored I guess. I just finished it yesterday and I broke it about an hour ago. I had about 8 good hours tearing around Los Angeles before it died so im not complaining though. Actually Im looking forward to learning how to rebuild an engine. Its wicked fun to ride. pretty fast for a 90 cc. I think it could hold its own against a buddy for sure. If I can fix it Ill bring it to the next rally and you can take it for a spin Eric.

Awesome looking ride. The chrome looks to be in nice shape. I especially like the piping on the seat!

Reminds me of the first bike I ever rode, a late 60's Honda 90-S. The 2 stroke Kawa should be quicker, but even that little Honda was quick enough to scare a new rider. The Honda also had a unique, funky style to it. This Kawasaki looks like a scaled down cafe racer; pretty cool.
Good luck and enjoy. And watch out for brake fade.

For some reason, Lucky had a bunch of '60s/'70s Japanese motorcycle shirts and jackets this year. There were a bunch of cool ones in the winter, which may be at outlets by now. I thought they were cool, but would have felt a bit like a poseur.

I also love riding & working on old Japanese bikes. Had a Yamaha RD350 for a little while, but the buzz kinda got to me on longer rides. I'm currently riding a '72 Honda CB350F - Honda's smallest four cylinder ever made ...

I love vintage bikes as well. The market for them is going through the roof so if you have one hang on to it, you have a nice little investment. My dream is a 69-70 Bonneville, but those are already more expensive than a new one. I missed out on a GREAT old Honda, it was mint with 325 miles on it for under $500. By the time I got there it was already sold. I knew I should have left work to go get it.

here is a couple kickin' around. These are pictures of the bikes but not the actual ones in the garage. I got two of these when I was in Cambodia and shipped them back home. Can you guess which two?
