Perhaps this answers questions about the windscreen debate

Post by Alix B »

Folks, no crosswind has ever outweighed the advantage of having my windscreen. It keeps me safe from wind exhaustion and even helps save on gas. And just look out how many bugs it has killed! If you are a bug sympathizer, the windscreen is not for you.

As a bio teacher, I cannot condone the act of killing a living thing (besides cow, pig, and all the other succulent meats ) . Therefore I shall forever remain windscreenless.
Robbie: You hit two cones back there. Those could have been people... they could have been guests at her wedding!

Sammy: [exasperated] They were *cones*!

Plus if you're riding in the sun, they turn a nice golden brown by the time are you are ready to nosh.

Alix you should coat the windscreen with a little butter and pepper before each ride... think of the possibilities!

I pulled a nice little bug out of my top the other day! He had just been hanging out for the ride, and flew away after I had parked... If I got a windscreen I'd miss precious moments like that!

I call myself a Free-gan. Free to eat anything, and preferably things that are Free.

However, it might take awhile before I start crunching away at those snacks on the screen.

It's basically a tomb and I'm honoring the dead.

Alix, most of those splats don't have the color I'd expect to see. It looks as if your were following a smoker. What were they eating before they came to rest on your screen?

Hey, if we're not supposed to eat them, why are they made out of meat?

I will stop eating cows when they learn how to eat humans...

There is a reason we are on top of the food chain. :D

and also my screen got hit by a rock the other day and I am SO glad it didn't hit me in the chest. I am pretty sure it could have knocked me off the scoot...I think it almost cracked the shield. I'm so glad to have the windshield.

When I was riding to the Ducati event over the weekend, I turned behind some huge sportbike, 1100cc's, and she was just flinging road debris into my face... made me glad I have a full face helmet. 8)

Reminds me of that joke:
What's the last thing that goes through a bugs mind as they hit your windscreen.
