New Rattler

Post by cmiller36 »

Just got a new Rattler today. Any tips/suggestions? What kind of mileage do you get? What kind of oil do you mix with the gas?

Rattler has an auto mix... no need to pre mix. Search these forums and also check a bunch of us out at yahoo group "genuinerattler". I'm sure you'll find some good stuff out, some bad stuff... and figure out what you want to mod first :D Release your inner hooligan and scoot!

As hard as it is to do, break it in carefully as outlined in the manual. It runs better and better as the miles pile-up, but break-in is important. I keep mine stock and just love it!

welcome and congrats!! i love my rattler...i've got about 500 miles on mine now and it keeps getting better and better. break it in right and you shouldn't have any problems. be sure to use a decent/good 2 stroke oil though, that'll make a difference in the long run. keep away from the cheap stuff. i average about 65 -70 miles per tank, 6'2" around 230-240. my 2 friends and i, who own a metro and ruckus, were out till 1am the other day....man it was nice out. ride safe and have fun!!!

I have had my $1.10 for a month and have put over 400 miles total on it.
I put a Prima pipe on it and just recently went w/a 2000 rpm contra spring.
I have purchased a 285 main jet and am sceptical about the 12 gram rollers I have plans for trying out next. Your gonna get a kick out of your Rattler. I drive it to and from work and wheelie the piss and vinegar out of it every chance I get. Welcome from another newbie.
