It depends on the helmet, but many will. Mine, a KBC VR1X (large), does fit but just barely. Make sure to give it a try... helmet shapes are all a bit different.

My Modular Full-Face Fulmer fits in there with no problems, but it is more or less an exact fit so be sure to check with a particular helmet.

The seat does indeed lock when pressed closed. To unlock it you simply press the key INTO the ignition so that the front metal face pushes down a bit, and then you turn it to the left. BAM! The seat unlocks.

thanks, i appreciate the help. I wish to get a buddy someday, but its hard with being a college student paying bills, rent, and getting through one more college semester w/out loans. Almost there though.

My FF HJC CL Session 15 Medium helmet fits inside the pet carrier.

My Shoei RJ Platinum-R Open Face Helmet fits perfectly under the seat. I can close and lock (just barely). No marks left on helmet.
