How'd I break that?

Post by nissanman »

Funny thing tonight. I found out two things. 1 is that the Rattler does appear to have a rev limiter. On a downhill I can get 60+ out of it, but on a flat tonight it hit 57 and hit a "wall". Weird. 2 is that I broke the bracket that holds the rear tire hugger on (on the exhaust side). While doing my high speed run it started to make an awful noise, I thought I may have lost an exhaust nut or something. Get home and notice the hugger is loose and the bracket is broken  Oh well, I'll run it hugger-less for now until I make a new bracket.

Stinkin rev limiter, must be a way to get past it if you ever decide to punch her out a little.

What is it that you are referring to as the hugger Dan?

The rear fender that sits about 1/4" over the rear tire.

I haven't seen one yet but if polini makes a clutch for the rattler pick that pig up.

They grab super hard and are hella easy to adjust.

Downhill was a true 60 (thanks Garmin), rev limiter was at an indicated 57.
