Noo.. Not Barbra Streisand or Linda Richman from SNL.
Now mind you.. I have put windshields on a Honda Metropolitan, Kymco People 150, Stella and a Piaggio Fly and never had a single problem.... None what so ever.
Now, I am trying to put a windshield on a Buddy.
First attempt I popped the head of the bolt. The reverse thread mind you.
The bolt which is not stocked locally at all!!!!!
Flashback.. This afternoon
So got another bolt shipped from Genuine. (Not just the bolt, but all the windshield hardware) Of course the bolt in question is still longer than the other one. Added 5 washers to make up for the difference. Tried to put it in ever so gently. Didn't use a ratchet. Just a good old wrench.
Turn, turn, turn, turn.. What.. no resistance? None at all? So I think the damn thing is stripped.
Ok, so lets go in reverse.. Pulled the bolt out. Wait the bolt looks ok.
So I got a flash light and peeked in the hole. .
Wait.. 50% 0f the threads inside are missing!! Nothing to screw this damn bolt into. Before it looked like a tunnel Today its a half a tunnel!
Totally broken inside..
Back to current time:
Windshild and mirror are now attached. Thank GOD for duct tape.
Good news.. my reverse thread bolt is still in good shape.
Bad news.. I can't screw the damn thing into anything.
So I figure I will need to replace the entire right hand unit which has the kill switch, the headlight switch that doesn't do anything and the starter button. Maybe the throttle too. Who knows. Not sure exactly what its called as I can't find a parts list anywhere
