Vespa of Charlotte Open House
Here are a few photos from the recent (May) open house at Vespa of Charlotte in NC.
While I don't currently own a Buddy or Vespa this event really stirred the pot for me. I'm looking pretty hard now.
Enjoy.

I do a good bit of amateur photography work and I look forward to shooting more scoots in the near future.

Anyone know how they mounted that badge bar? Is there an after market part, it was it DYI? I'd love to put one on...
Maude Lebowski: What do you do for recreation?

I assume they attached it to the two punch-out holes typically used for the front rack.
I've got to find a way to put one on mine:

Thanks again. What kind of camera do you use? Have these been digitally altered to get the vignette around the edge, or did you get that with different lenses/filters?CycleScoot wrote:I've thrown up a few more than can be found here.

Here are some pictures I took that same day. Nice to see there are others in the area on this forum.
Everyone lining up to go on the ride.
Two buddies on the far right, Wooh!
Find the one thing that doesn't belong
I was impressed with this guy. He was between 60-70+, yet he was out there talking away with everyone and was quick to jump on his scooter to ride.

Uh, they couldn't get this kind of crowd at an open house at my local Vespa dealership. Looks like a great event. Nice variety of scoots & riders.
Kind of interesting... When there are rallies and rides out here, we see a lot of full face/modular helmets and gear. Not at this one!

They had so many people turn out they ended up splitting the ride into two groups. I'm not sure how many scooters were there that day but it sure seemed like a good turn out to me.ericalm wrote:Uh, they couldn't get this kind of crowd at an open house at my local Vespa dealership. I was surprised as well. I think I saw 1-2 jackets and about 2-4 full face helmets. Of course a number of shorts and sandals .Kind of interesting... When there are rallies and rides out here, we see a lot of full face/modular helmets and gear. Not at this one!

Everybody's got that laid-back southern vibe going on in the Carolinas. I don't know about NC, but in SC there is no helmet law, so there are a ton of bikers that don't wear a helmet at all. So because we're used to seeing so many completely helmetless riders, I guess a lot of us feel pretty safe with a half-helmet. I dunno.ericalm wrote:Kind of interesting...
