Buddy windshield brand

Post by okiejack »

1. Who makes the short and tall windshields for the Buddy?

2. Does Genuine have a serious backorder problem or are they in-stock?

Not sure how to post links so....
1) go to the "My Windshield cut-down adventure" post a couple topic down. Or used "search" to find the other entries on this subject.

2)Not sure of the back order status. I just asked at my local dealer about the tall one the other week but they didn't have any. When I asked if they would be getting any apparently the owner doesn't like them. I asked how much one would be the guy seemingly pulled a figure out of the air ($150) that seemed a bit high.

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe I missed it but the posts you referenced didn't mention the manufacturer of the windshield.

I believe it's the one from Genuine made for the Buddy.

Yes, I understand that it is made for Genuine and the Buddy. The questions is ... who makes it? Is it PUIG, GIVI or someone else ... who?

I certainly don't think it is made by Genuine.

I bought my new Buddy last week, and had them put on a Genuine tall wind screen. After two hours of stripping nuts and retapping holes, they said they didn't have the right bolts. Rather than wait another hour, I took my screenless Buddy home. Hopefully today they will have better luck with the install. I probably could have done a better job myself.

The Buddy windshield is manufactured by Altuglass.
