Don’t laugh but I have been thinking, why would you name your scooter since I first saw this thread. My b/f told me to not ever say my scooter's name around him. He thinks it's weird but said I could talk to my scooter friends about it that way if I 'had' to.

And then in the middle of the night natured called at 3am (hey I know all of you do that), and while walking to the bathroom I thought of an Oreo (no, I dont eat them anymore like I did as a kid). Don’t ask where the heck it came from, I was sleep walking to the bathroom and that came to my head, then I shook my head and thought that is cute! CREAM colored and the black areas of the Buddy are the exterior part of the cookie.

So that's the name of my soon to be adopted Cream Buddy 125. ;) Now does Oreo sound like my B125 would be masculine or can an Oreo be feminine? I’d have to lean towards masculine.

Remember the Buddy is an automatic.......I had a g/f in highschool that used to say all cars with a stick shift (manual) were masuline and all cars with automatics were feminine. I tend to agree with this, but I think my Buddy has some Napolean complex because he loves to beat people off the line and has no clue he's a measly 125cc weakling.

i would have to agree that the b125 is inherently female, but certainly not in a stereotypical and sexist sort of "weak" or "subservient" manner... that is why mantis became the moniker of my b125... it is most certainly female, but would probably bite your head off and eat you after she had her way with you... plus with my 6'3" frame and my feet up on the passenger "pegs", we present a certain gangly insect asthetic...

I know this is off topic, but figured it'd be easier to catch you here than in the (using the passenger pegs) thread.

I'm 6'0" -not quite the 6'3" you are but- I was using the passenger pegs briefly (and occassionally still do to switch it up.

Recently I've been sitting back on the seat (read more room in front of me on the seat than behind me/or half way between passenger and driver) and have been putting my feet forward with my heels in the little nook up in front of the floor mat. This gives me a very comfortable "cruiser" lean and feel. I've found it's a great position for a relaxing ride. Give that a whirl.

That is exactly how Montgomery named himself- out of the blue, when I wasn't even thinking of it. Oreo is great! If it feels masculine to you, it probably is. I couldn't imagine my Buddy as a female, but were he pink, I probably could be inclined. ;)

ill give it a shot... one of the reasons that i use the "pegs" is that i haven't found a comfortable postition for my feet... they are about 1/2" too long... but then again, i haven't tried much since i adopted my current style... thanks for the idea...

My scoot -- Kevin -- is definatley a male.

I was actually having a pretty in depth convo with one of my pals the other day about the naming of inanimate objects. He tends to name anything and everything he can after a FEMALE -- where as I ALWAYS name things MALE names. My car is named Francisco, I have a plant named Rupert, etc.

I let one of my pals take Kevin out for a ride the other day (he had no idea the name of my scoot before he took it out). When he came home he looked at me and said "Wow, she rides like a dream." I informed him that HIS name is Kevin and Yes, he does ride like a dream.

Overall, I think that the scoot is whatever sex you choose it to be. It will most likely happen that one day you get off your scoot and refernce him/her in a sentance -- viola. Sexual orientation has been assigned.

Although pink I think of my Buddy as male-ish. Thus, "Andie" really is the perfect name.

My car though -- a VW bug -- is very asexual. Its name is "carPod."

I haven't officially named my Buddy yet, but...

After finding out that PGO calls it "My BuBu" I have found myself greeting my scooter when I go into the garage and see it.

In my best Yogi Bear voice, I say "Hey Boo Boo".

Maybe I watched too many cartoons as a kid.

My Buddy is named "Buttercup" for the color and the Powerpuff Girl. She is the one in green (for those not addicted to the Cartoon Network).

we have been calling both the Buddys (the black and the cream) "buddy" . lame I know, but it fits. the black one is all boy and always has been, but mine is kind of androgynous. he is mostly boy in character and behavior, but he is almost too pretty to be a boy. Even if I thought of the perfect name, I would probably still call him Buddy. :?

Had mine two weeks, determined that it is a chick! Cause lord knows I don't want to be riding a guy! I have the Sunset Orange as well, it also happens to be my fav color.
Everytime my wife and I discuss it, we can't help but think of the male doll from the 80's
My buddy, my buddy, where ever I go, he goes, aaahahhhaha
So I am stall for a name. I will let her name herself though as all my cars have. I like the Great Pumpkin from Charlie Brown, but that really isn't a name.

I thought it might be fun to resurrect this thread...

I call her "Stinky" after my first Bichon's nickname (RIP 1999-2011). We called her "bad to the bone" due to her mischievious spirit.

And the Psycho is a "bad to the bone" scooter!

Mine is called "Flash". In part because of the scarlet color (in combination with the lightning emblem on his chest). But also because – even though he's not very fast by motorcycle standards – he is the fastest bike I have ever owned.

My Buddy 50 is named Mia Scooterpants - no idea where it came from, I was just riding her home on the day I got her and the name Mia popped into my head. It's much more random than the names my hubby and his friend gave their Stellas - his is Donna Stella (after his favorite Doctor Who companion), and our friend Gina's is Carmen Stelladiego (since her scoot is a bright red Stella).

My buddy is black and red with the skull and crossed lightning bolts from Deathproof on it. I named her Varla, after the Tura Satana character in Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

My boyfriend rides a red vespa named D-20.

6 years and I've still never named her. I just always refer to her in the feminine.

though, since she started life as a st.tropez, and then i painted her blue white and black, and now i see that 5 years later Genuine has introduced The Brit blatantly painted in my EXACT paint scheme....

perhaps it's time i start calling her The OB (the original brit)
