replacing grips and floormats
I ordered the black grips and floormat for my pamplona from Scooterworks this morning and they said it would be shipping out today!
I am excited and think it'll look really sharp with the black/cream seat cover.
I'll have the brown floormat if anyone needs it...just PM me.
anyone have directions for replacing the grips? I think i heard that the old ones have to be cut off or something??

They can be pried off, but most people wind up cutting them.
I hear the key to getting new grips on is hairspray.

I dunno, that's what aruntoo told me. I loved his grips so much he got from japan, I asked how he put them on, all he told me was use WD-40 to take it off, and use it to put them back on. Some grips are made just so tight, they "grip" to the handle bar mount itself. Dunno if the buddy's is that way, if they are, you might be able to get a rubber hammer and just pound it on.

I don't know if it is the same for scooter grips as it is with motorcycle grips but I would think so, and one thing a lot of people do with their MCs is blow the grips off with an air compressor. I know this only because this is one of the reasons I heard that my husband needed an air compressor for his birthday a couple of weeks ago. . .

Be careful using WD-40. WD-40 can melt some types of rubber and vinyl. I suspect the reason it acts like "super glue" is because it is actually melting the grips and adhering to the bar.
Having done mountain bikes grips for years, I would recommend the air compressor and hairspray technique over WD-40 if you had a choice.

I'm nervous about WD40, too. Seems like heat could make them slip eventually, and it could damage the rubber or plastic.
Hairspray's always worked best for me, and I always just cut 'em off with a razor blade.
