Here's my black, silver and red Buddy 50. The stripes are 1" reflective tape from streetglo.net. I trimmed the tape down with a razor for a nice swoop echoing the lines of the side panels. I also added matching tape to my helmet.
Other mods: totally debadged, front decal, relocated front DOT signals, wired front signals together, chrome rack and topcase, brake light modulator, and bobbed the rear fender.

I just did this over the weekend. I'll try to take a night shot to show how the tape lights up.

THANK YOU!!! to Corsair and louie. I'm stoked! The black seat is nubbly, which was a surprise which I love.
ericalm, sounds like an interesting group that I'll need to check out. What's more, their history is eerily coincidental to that of April March, who covers 60s YeYe and did the voices on Ren & Stimpy.

Pink Buddy hits the stars
Our weekly scooter ride made a trip to the Cincinnati Observatory Center. I wanted a picture of my scooter in front of the Observatory but didn't know how much I liked this picture until later;the sunset reflecting in my scooter and the moon could be seen over the Observatory.

What am I doing wrong?
I'm trying to post my pix on here and it's telling me I'm trying to upload an empty file. How can I post my picture of my pretty scooter?

Regarding one of your future mods: I asked my dealer this exact question today and they told me the lower "dead" turn signal lights are used in Europe instead of the ones located below the handlegrips. Here in the states, the DOT requires the turn signals to be located higher up on the bike for visibility reasons, which makes sense. Having both sets of turn signals wired as such would draw too much wattage from the battery, keeping in mind the rear turn signals are drawing power too. That's not to say a more powerful battery couldn't handle this task but I'm not well-versed in mechanics to know if that would work or not (quadruple negative usage, sorry!). It is possible to wire the dead lights as running lights though. Hope this helps.SteMer wrote:No name. Completely stock except for removing all "Buddy 125" stickers and adding reflective tape. I bought mine with the white seat and grips. Future mods: connecting the lower non-working turn signals with the DOT turn signals, adding chrome trip and a cup holder. Maybe a seat cover from Crystal at some point too.

mine actually worked oppositely. they drew too much battery power as running lights and they work ok as turn signals.SKA'D_Scooterist wrote:Regarding one of your future mods: I asked my dealer this exact question today and they told me the lower "dead" turn signal lights are used in Europe instead of the ones located below the handlegrips. I'm more curious about the cycle shell! I've seen these online, and we have a lot of members without garages who are looking for alternatives. How do you like it?bulldog1967 wrote:And in case you're wondering what is in the cycle shell behind it:

It is AWESOME! Worth EVERY penny I paid for it. Not having a garage for my Valk was a no go with winter setting in last year, so I bought it and LOVE it. HIGHLY recommended for those without a garage!ericalm wrote:I'm more curious about the cycle shell! Meet Maneki Neko...Neko for short. It's a japanese term meaning "lucky (or fortune) cat". The Hello Kitty theme is based on the old Maneki Neko legends. The origonal cats are a native japanese breed with bobbed tails. One of the cats I live with is a japanese bobtail and they "chirp' sometimes rather than "meow". Nekos with left paws up are beconing for luck and friendship. Right for money. The paw on the cat on the rear basket goes up and down as I ride.I'm finding lots of Neko items on Ebay. But still waiting on the windshield.
