Tulsa Area Ride Idea

Post by OKBubbles »

Hey, guys! I have a scathingly brilliant idea for a ride this weekend.

The American Solar Challenge cars will be driving through OK this Sunday afternoon -- they leave McAlester around 12:30, and head north on 69. I'm thinking about leaving Tulsa Scooters around the same time, following 266/66 to Claremore, then 20 into Pryor. We can have a late lunch at Goldie's or Chili's in Pryor (they are both located right on 69) and watch the solar cars drive by, then head back home. It's a 45 mile ride one-way, and will probably take about 1 1/2 hours each way.

(sailortot -- you guys could hook up as we cross 169, rather than drive down into Tulsa)

According to Travis Meyer, it's supposed to be low 90s, with 10% chance of rain.

Send me a message if you are interested.

Sunday afternoon is tight for me but I may make it! It sounds like a lot of fun--I was on Highway 20 last weekend and it is pretty nice to ride on. 45 miles = 1 1/2 hours? I think NOT!

I'll be at the Thursday night ride tonight so I'll talk to you there if you show!

mapquest.com estimates 1 hr 5 min, but I was figuring in photo stops! :D

And what's with the "if you show" ??? Where were you the last two weeks?? I've got my brand new, cherry red, froggtoggs, and I'm not afraid to use 'em! :P

Sounds interesting. I might be up for it if the weather permits.

Will give me a chance to use (and not be able to see) my GPS :D

Due to tragic circumstances, this event will be a non-starter.

See my post in the General Discussion Forum.

I'm leaving for Myrtle Beach, SC, on Saturday in the Cruiser with my wife and grandchildren. It sounded like a wonderful ride idea, though.

And, again, I'm sorry ol' Blue bit the big one, literally.
