Well I am a little bummed that I wasn't the first to get the Jello pic. We made the Jello yesterday but I was afraid someone would be there on a Saturday. So thought Sunday afternoon would be best...

But yeah, even at that, it seemed like the most clandestine thing I've done since I was old enough to know better :D But sounds like O'Scoot had to work way harder than me. We set it all up, moved the copy machine out and the water cooler from across the building so I didn't have to roll my scoot on the carpet. Had my kid prop the door open and rolled it in took some pics.. and if the jello hadn't slid off and hit the floor, I would have been in and out in less than two minutes :D

Anyway...
4 points - Scooter at work
4 points - Copy Machine
3 points - Water Cooler
5 Points - Stapler in Jello (do I get extra credit for matching the Jello to the Blur?) :p
16 points Total

I threw in the Phone, White Out and Yellow Highlighter just cuz they were easy

i love the office so i thought it was a hilarious idea.

and i seriously cant believe someone actually took their scooter up the elevator just for the sake of the hunt. i mean...wow.

my office is just inside our building. one story flat. very small staff. and im completely freaked out to roll my scooter in there.

i might just have to take a cut of points this week and make a minimal effort.

scootlemont....how about we broaden the props category and have everyone use two props they normally use at work?

i have an office job, so i use all those things, but not everyone does.

That goes against your grain! You always put so much effort into the hunt, I for one, would be a little sad.

Well... I hate to change the rules now that we are going but I would consider it if thats what everyone wants to do...
That being said... I realize that not everyone can do some of these props but most you can get at walmart for a couple dollars if you dont have them laying around... yeah the copy machine, water cooler & office phone might not be found at some people's work place... but there have been things every week that some people couldnt get.
Like the pts for a Major League ballpark, Scooter poker some people couldnt play because there simply are not any other scooters in their town (like me), I bet a lot of towns dont have police trucks, & a lot of people couldnt get the points for a pic with fireworks becasue they dont have them in their state.
And... the biggest prop points were for the stapler in jello - that only takes about $5 (if you dont have one already) & a willingness to do it.
I dont want to be a point nazi but some weeks are going to be harder for some players than others.
Most weeks there have been a bonus that some people are not able to get. Understand what I mean?

Not everyone wants it. The challenge is the fun part ... at least for me.

I work from home and the copy machine is just not an option. But I can make some points happen with all the options you threw out there.

I wouldnt do that yet... we have a long way to go...
What if we had a week that featured bonus points for a photo with a building over 700ft tall? You might not be able to get that.
We are not even 1/2 way yet, you can back off if you want to, but I wouldnt assume you will get to keep this lead in the 2nd half (things can change after the all star break - sorry baseball reference)

just getting the photo with a few props will be easy (i work a quarter mile from my house), but trying to get the max points is kind of scary. ive only got a few hours to pull it off before i leave town for a week, possibly without my scooter...so we'll see.

im getting a kick out of everyones risk-taking. thats for sure. good entries, guys!

First, I just like to say that this hunt is kinda one-sided to folks that don't work at OFFICE buildings... Anyways, I managed to get my pic in this week despite the minor setbacks! I finally replaced my computer, which was fried by lightning last month :( . So here's my crappy pic:

Scooter @ work (I ride my Bud there everyday unless its stormy): 4 points!
Tada! That's a yellow highlighter in my hand: +1 point!
Gnarly and un-appetizing as it may be, that's one jello-fied stapler my friends! +5 points!
edit: Sorry ScootLemont, I forgot to put my total: 10 points!!!

Image

Okay, it looks pretty lame I admit, but I promise I didn't just stick that stapler in some smooshed up Jello. It's really in there! I think if you really look at it you can tell (also you'll be able to tell my glasses were fogging up  ). It's a mix of melon fusion and peach (hence the gross color). DELICIOUS!!! My sister told me I should've greased the bowl first... DUH! Why didn't I think of that?! Also, I was planning to get a shot of the front of the building, but like 2 minutes after we got there they turned the light off :x . So, it is just a pic of me in front of a truck (I got my sis to shine the car headlights on it so you could see) but the truck is parked in front of the entrance. They always park delivery trucks there at night to block it off... Anyhow, WOW! that's long, sorry.

And the baseball one was kinda one sided for those of us who don't live near a baseball field.

In the end, it should all sorta even out. Thanks ScootLemont for putting this together, fun stuff. :)

And if you're going to do the jello, you gotta double up on the jello mix to make it solid enough to stick together ;) Mine even hit the floor and stayed mostly together.

I vote don't change anything after you've started. That's not fair to those that have already submitted pics. And you're right on. There were lots of things that some of us can't get....night shots of fireworks 30 miles away....major league ball parks.... multiple scoots...etc. All of those had some major points. Besides....some of us risked our jobs for this last pic. Shoot, that oughta be worth even MORE bonus points for just the guts to try it

I am stunned by how many people are actually doing the jello thing. Y'all rock. And for those of you taking them inside??!? Speechless...

My boss is a perfectionist and would throttle me if I left any tire tracks on the carpet. hehehe

re bonus points.... from the Friday post:
But ScootLemont…. I don’t ride to work… but I still want to play!
Ok, Ok, you can still play this week by using up to 3 props in your scooter photo taken at home (or anywhere else) you just don’t get the initial 4pts for the photo of your scooter at work.
so yes... you can go for only bonus points if you cant ride to work.

Yes... it must be yellow

And thanks to all of you who thanked me for running this 8)

My helmet's off to Mary Jane, OScoot! (19th floor, really?!?), Racenut and sailortot so far, for wheeling their scoots inside the office. I'm getting outsourced this year, but I'd just as soon it not be this WEEK! So I had to get my scoot waiting patiently at the door.

I ride my scoot every day to work and am able to park it inside. Big thing I learned from this... jello does not travel well in the pet carrier. I won't be bringing the jello mold for the holidays! Oh yeah... and the stapler still works. Fun stuff!

JELLO in a Mold

Post by zoomzoom »

I would not eat the JELLO after it has been in contact with your stapler, do YOU know what might be lurking on it. Racenut & I have a 11 year old boy who had to try the JELLO while it was in the fridge, he thought it was cool. The whole office escapade included the whole family, and our son could not wait for the photo shoot to be over so he could EAT the JELLO. As Racenut pointed out in his post the JELLO even hit the floor.

As a mother i cringed, but thought what the heck, he ate one little piece and decided mom was probably right and had fun DE-JELLOing the stapler.

FYI - The stapler cleans up really well in the Dishwasher, and is sanitized. :D

ok, I am a part time model which means I have no regular place of employment...the other part of the time I am a housewife. SO, I took the picture with my scooter in front of my house with the only prop I had...the yellow highlighter.

4pts for a photo of your scooter at YOUR place of WORK (any day this week – doesn’t have to be on the 16th)
+1 Yellow highlighter

a sad 5pts.

also because I was on my way to the grocery store as my duties of a housewife requires, here's my scoot "working"

White Out is also there, but a little bird reminded me only 3 props total may be used. Thanks little bird ;)

I thought about asking the president of the college to be in the pics, but I chickened out. That's me with my colleague Silbia on the right. I love my job and I love where I work...I'm so lucky! (Not to rub it in or anything...it's a long time coming 'til I got a job I absolutely love.)

Thanks Paul for taking the pic.

Gareth: He put my stapler inside a jelly again. That's the third time he's done it. It wasn't funny the first time.
David: Why has he done that?
Gareth: I told him once I don't like jelly. I don't trust the way it moves.
David: Yeah, you show him a weakness, he'll pounce. You should know that.
