Yes, we're closing in on 3k. I may have a chocolate cupcake to celebrate. Funny, it doesn't feel that crowded in here.

Awwww man, that's like when my neighbor signs up for cable and gets a thousand channels for half of what I've been paying for the last 5 years.illnoise wrote:3,000th member gets a free 2strokebuzz t-shirt and a zombie patch, on me.
I suppose I should be upset, even feel violated, but I'm not. No, in fact, I think this is a friendly message, like "Hey, wanna play?" and yes I want to play. I really really do.

Good point. OK, he/she gets the prize after his/her hundredth post. So keep quiet and we'll all get to stalk this poor being until they're legit then we'll make a big deal about it. It's the inside joke of the year.Orange Guy wrote:Awwww man, that's like when my neighbor signs up for cable and gets a thousand channels for half of what I've been paying for the last 5 years.  :cry:illnoise wrote:3,000th member gets a free 2strokebuzz t-shirt and a zombie patch, on me.

IIRC, I PM'd #2000 (bluefoci) and was all, "Hey, congrats!" and I don't remember hearing back. Probably thought I was trying to sell him something.

That would actually be really funny... we'd have to hide this thread when they join... but we could let anyone contribute a prize to this person and on the 100th post just start sending him/her stuff.illnoise wrote:Good point. Won't stay a secret for long. Mikie and I are refreshing old posts to boost our counts. I've actually started a campaign to get Mikie voted as a Mod so that his post count will have less impact. Then I'll take over the title ... and maybe his dark pink buddy with prima pipe!illnoise wrote:Good point. OK, he/she gets the prize after his/her hundredth post. This is an oligarchy, not a democracy. Your campaign is futile. Having the highest post count is utterly meaningless. I should know.sotied wrote:I've actually started a campaign to get Mikie voted as a Mod so that his post count will have less impact. Thanks for the laugh! I've been planning a trip to the Village for the last three years. One day I'll get there. Damn exchange rateericalm wrote: I am not a number, I am a human being! (Who is Number 1? Oh, wait, it's Jess.)
When my neighbor (an auto mechanic) sold his house, the people buying it wanted to pay cash (they don't believe in credit). They didn't have enough, but they did have a brand new Lotus Seven in pieces (never put together) that they threw in to sweeten the deal. Needless to say, he bit, the house sold, and he never got around to putting it together (yes, I had dreams about driving around town in that thing). He has since sold it (still brand new but in pieces) and dashed my dreams.

If someone quits, does it rejiggy all the numbers? or is it more or less impossible to quit? The numbers don't seem so much assigned to members as just numbers in the chronological list.

Yeah, I don't think they're assigned. I've rarely deleted a user—only in instances when someone has double-registered. Even banned users (few as they are) stay on the rolls.illnoise wrote:If someone quits, does it rejiggy all the numbers? or is it more or less impossible to quit? you're doing great and thanks
You definitely deserve to award yourself with that cupcake. If you ever get up to Portland OR, let us know as I'm sure there are several members that would like to treat to a little celebration time.
Eric, thanks for taking care of this site. It's been very helpful to me.

Imagine if we could get all 2995 members to post! We would have to scroll through pages and pages just to keep up with all the new info and Mikie would have a field day upping his post count!

I would have to take a sick day from work, so I could open up my MB window to full screen instead of keeping it "hidden" on the bottom 1/4 of my work screen!Ronin wrote:Imagine if we could get all 2995 members to post! Mikie Mikie Mikie... I think that you just need a new hobby! Ya know, I have a scooter (a pretty decent one at that) that I would be willing to let you test ride. You never know, riding a scooter may be for you and give you a hobby other than posting to forums!
