another new Rattler 110 owner
Great to see a forum out there for the 110! I just picked mine up yesterday from the dealer ('07 silver/black). So far so good with everything. I look forward to watching posts and contributing! I'm sure I'll have questions soon as well, since this is my first scooter.

you should think about jumping in the scavenger hunt
topic6999.html
you could get a quick 12 points for downers grove this week
-dont worry about coming late to the hunt... we have people jumping in & out all the time - its just for fun -
BiscuitHead is from downers & he has had pics of his Blur in the hunt
Have fun & ride safe (best advice - ride like you are invisible - people WILL pull out in front of you)

Small world - I also got mine from URAL on Ogden in Clarendon Hills.
I have friends that have sportbikes and Harleys - and they've given me similar advice, and I do appreciate yours. It's no different no matter WHAT you are driving when it's on 2 wheels. All your sensory goes on high alert instantly. I'm only taking to streets that are are very familiar to me right now.
I'll check out the scavenger hunt link also. Thanks!

I was one fence between the red or the silver, and then when I went back the following weekend, there were only 2 silvers left - so that made my decision easier. I think they're down to one Rattler now (their demo). The guys at Ural/True Imports said that Vespa may be sponsoring a suburban rally with them next summer - anyone heard anything in more detail? The clock is nice touch. Where did you get that?

clock
Hello,
I got it at Auto Zone. The only problem is that in order to fit you need to remove the pin, from the base of the clock, and flip the base around. Not a big deal...

PS
What do you think about the pinstripe?

That looks sharp - I have been thinking about doing that on mine - but cant pick a color to split the black & silver - maybe red?
And I do like how the clock has "digital clock" printed on it

Red pinstripe?
When I was doing my research on scooters I found a review from this guy who had a black and silver Rattler and he did have a RED pinstripe. It looked very nice. I tried to find it, but no luck...

I am going to buy red tape - it will help hide the "not so perfect" paint line between the black & silver
I just found reflective red pin stripe

I just applied it (1/8" thickness). It was very easy because it can be repositioned. I attached a photo. It is not reflective, but the back of the packaging notes that reflective striping cannot be repositioned. Anything reflective is designed for straight applications only. Maybe this applies to this brand only(?). It is 3M material though.

YOU'RE WELCOME
Hi,
I'm just in love with my Rattler. I'm a teacher and that means whole summer off, I CAN"T wait to start going to work on the Rattler. Back to the pinstripe, I also put it in the front, it looks cool. I will post some pics later.

my reflective stuff should arrive monday or tuesday - hopefully I can "bend" it where I want -
the street glo website does not say anything about curving it - but it does have a photo of a motorcycle, with lots of it, and it is curved all over.
I am keeping my fingers crossed
I plan on doing some on the front of mine as well... the Rattler 50s have both paint colors on the front so I have the paint seam to cover - actually I would like to find a couple spots on the back as well - but dont want to over do it.
cant wait to try it out - I will post up pics as soon as I get it done
thanks again for the idea

Im striping my rattler tonight with a chrome stripe. I practiced a bit and what i have found with it is the tighter you pull it when your laying it down the easier it is to curve without getting a wrinkle. I painted my helmet to match my rattler and striping it too, ill post a pick when i get it done.

I wanted to see what lime green would look like, thanks in advance - I hope you don't mind my using your photos for a test, SL. If they even have that color available - may feel a little Kawasaki-ish though. Just experimenting with other color choices. It's not perfect, but if there are other colors you'd like to see, just let me know.

the green looks cool also - feel free to go nuts with the photo
they have
White
black (yes reflective black)
red
yellow
blue
orange
gold
& green
FYI - I stripped off the strip that had the section that cracked (I assume because I pulled it up & put it back, when initially installing it) anyway... it is a little work to get off - it comes off in 1/4" long pieces so it was a lot of scraping with my finger nail - but got it all off & replaced the piece & it is all good
Just wanted to share that - "regular" pinstripe usually comes off in long strips - even if it has been on a while (if you park it in the sun for a while)

I too am now going the reflective route. I tried the chrome striping from autozone and it sucks, when you go around a curve it wrinkles up. you can flatten it down and make it look good but eventually it just pops back up and looks bad. Just thought I would let everyone know. has anyone tried Gold striping on a red ratt? I think it would compliment the shock nicely.

Not a bad price SL - thanks!
I have a friend who owns a business that creates vinyl wraps for vehicles, as well as custom decal work with 3M material. We do some side work together and create decals for other purposes, like vinyl designs to be applied to lexan for R/C hobbyists. That's where I've been thinking about my Rattler. The potential to do something very cool is there (and for any brand of scooter), as long as it's not going crazily overboard. Any ideas would be great - I'll share as well as soon as I get around to it.

Could you do a wrap that would replace all of the red (leave the black) with a ARPAT digital camo pattern?
