We've got a Rattler down

Post by Frankie 2 Tone »

The Rattler went down tonight going through the toll booth....everybody is OK, but we all have a few scratches. Thank goodness I was wearing the appropriate gear, including GLOVES!!! I am gonna take a break from the scooter tomorrow, but mostly because it is gonna rain!...

Remember to be careful out there!!!

So on Friday is it Rattler UP :?: Glad to hear you're all alright. Scratches add character to the Rattler anyway...

That's one of the things our MSF instructor mentioned - toll booths are some of the slipperiest places on the road! I've only been though one so far on the scoot - I kept a SmartTag on my old bike, but I'm ditching the tags at the end of the month. I think I'm going to stick one of those change holders on it somewhere instead. RMA ain't gonna keep MY money for free.

Yeah, I go across the nickel bridge twice a day, but this is the first time the bar was slow to go up. I have my smart tag mounted under the front cover.....usually works well...lol

I am not a ATGATT guy, but my essentials are gloves and ff helmet. For some reason I think I can handle the pain (and healing) of scraping my arms or legs, but I know my hands will try to absorb impact and that would not be good.

The one handed quarter toss often works,
but it sure is risky with one hand on the bars (the throttle!),
on a slick and congested bit of road (nickle bridge).

I always felt like having a handful of change stolen off the
scooter would be far less hassle than having a smart tag lifted.
When it goes up to .35 next month, that will be too
much change to be fooling with.

I've been wondering about mounting a smart tag
under the front panel of my scoot.
Figure it should be able to transceive from under the plastic.

Anyone with experience? I'll be posting mine shortly.
