My First Ride (Video and Pix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TVJerb17_8
So this is my first ride on my Buddy ever. I test drove the 50cc at the shop but was too nervous so it was like 2 turns and I was done. I was so nervous in this video! You have to turn up the volume to hear the video.
Getting fully geared up for my 2nd ride of the day. I must say, I was ALOT more comfortable this time around than what you see in the video above. Maybe practice DOES make perfect
I have tried on SOOO many helmets, and never knew that the best fit for me as an XL Youth helmet! (recommended to me by the guy selling the helmets) It is 1lbs lighter but makes such a big difference on my neck. Ladies, you should really try out some Youth helmets.
And my jacket was on sale for $70! The last small one. Do I need to shave the seat down? My feet are barely touching the ground.

And to finish off the day, something to make you smile

I loved the "Dog meets Buddy" video! My daughter and her sweetie have a 70 lb. English bulldog, who was terrified of my scooter the first couple of times I visited on Dorothy.
Jackson has since figured out that Grandma carries treats in the pet carrier, so he's MUCH happier to see the Buddy these days!

You know Mikie, the new slogan I have with your help has really grown on me. I hope you don't mind that I am still using it, it's just so fitting of me. You have a black HJC too? we are so much alike! )MikieTaps wrote:nice helmet... I have the same one!
Congrats on your buddy! Congrats on the ride!
P.S. I gave your video a 5 star rating!

Great Idea! I will give her treats every now and then from the pet carrier to see how she reacts.OKBubbles wrote:I loved the "Dog meets Buddy" video! My daughter and her sweetie have a 70 lb. English bulldog, who was terrified of my scooter the first couple of times I visited on Dorothy.

Great to see you up and riding, ESPECIALLY with the gear on!
You look great in the red jacket!
Just keep doing what you're doing, and ride within your personal comfort level.
When you can make it to Barnes and Noble - on your scoot - pick up a copy of Proficient Motorcycling. It will do wonders for you.
Have a great and safe weekend!

Did you shave it yourself? Any pix?GDP wrote:Being short legged myself, shaving an inch or so off the seat does help

I ride a Rough House, which is a little taller than a buddy to begin with.
My seat is MAYBE about Buddy height now...

Congrats on the ride! I find that it's easier for me at higher speeds, slow may seem like a great idea...but it's more stable the faster I go. You'll get there.
...and it's about time you came out of lurkerville, nativeloup! lol

Wow! your first post on MB and it was for me! I feel so honored Welcome!!nativeloup wrote:congrats on the buddy.... you should shave the seat, you want to be able to put both feet on the ground, or at least as close to that as you can for comfort and stability..
